Eclipse Live has
announced that ‘The Dreams Project’, its youth driven employment initiative will
take effect from today. The project, which was borne out of the passion to
empower the youth of Nigeria, with the primary aim of connecting them through the
universal language of music.
The project will open
up career opportunities within the entertainment industry, placing a strong
focus on ancillary roles as apposed to just artistry.
The Dreams Project
activity kicked off last month with a school visit to The Apostolic Grammar
School where the team spoke to future ‘Dreamers’ about the importance of education.
‘Education is a
powerful tool in terms of youth empowerment. The ability to articulate and
voice out your opinion goes a long way in being heard’ said Chin Okeke, Eclipse
Live founder.
The Dreams Project
will commence with an open application process, which aims to attract top
quality job seekers with a hunger and passion to succeed in the entertainment
industry. Prospective candidates will be able to register online, after which a
total of 150 candidates will be shortlisted to attend The Dreams work shop.
The Dreams workshop is
a one day seminar which provides attendees with the rare opportunity to gain
insight and knowledge from renowned industry professionals who will be at hand
to provide top tips and pointers on how to succeed in the industry. Break-out
sessions will encourage participation in multiple sessions for candidates who
are interested in more than one sector.
Based on performance and career interest, candidates who are interested in gaining industry experience will be given the opportunity to transition unto the volunteer scheme with the much anticipated Gidi Culture Festival; where a team of young and fun creatives will be at hand to serve as mentors.
The Dreams Project promises to be a truly rewarding experience. Following a successful volunteer placement, top performers will be recommended for a three month internship with one of our institutional partners in the entertainment sector with the potential of a permanent role.
So if you have always dreamt of working in the entertainment industry, this is just the opportunity to get involved. The opportunity to kickstart your career starts with a click, so visit www.dreamsproject.org to take the step towards a flourishing career!
