Scottish singer Emeli Sande was the big winner at the 2012 MOBO Awards held in Liverpool, UK taking home Best Album, Best Female and Best R&B/Soul Act, She said, "I really didn't expect to win three and getting the Album of the Year was a big thing for me, so I feel like all the hard work pays off when you get acknowledgement like that".

Rita Ora won the award for Best Newscomer at The Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in the Echo Arena in Liverpool.. She wore an Alexander McQueen dress and tweeted "In memory of the legend McQueen! LETS GO HAVE SOME FUN!! Wish me luck!!"
