Breaking News: Kwara State Political 'war-lord', Olusola Saraki is dead

Reports reaching us indicate that Olusola Saraki,
the strongman of Kwara politics, is dead. He was 79.Mr. Saraki
who was the Leader of the Nigerian Senate during the second republic,
died Wednesday morning at the age of 79 in Lagos.
Mr. Saraki controlled the politics of Kwara State
for about two decades until he was displaced as kingmaker by his son, Bukola, a
serving senator, in the 2011 general elections who made sure his half-sister
Gbemisola Saraki didn't succeed him in office as the next governor of the
state.
The singular move of rejecting his father's daughter to succeed him was said to
have cause a huge disagreement between the father and son.
