Bonsue Fuji exponent, Adewale Ayuba has denied
rumours that he was beaten to stupour and humiliated last week in Ibadan by
suspected touts and show organizers for turning up late at a scheduled
show. The rumour mill was agog last Friday that the Fuji musician
was in a critical condition after sustaining injuries from attack by irate fans
who were aggrieved that he showed up late for a scheduled performance at the
Oyo State Capital.
While waving off the report as a malicious tale, the Bonsue
King confirmed that he was indeed at Ibadan to perform with his band at the
birthday of a top socialite. “I was very surprised when I began to
receive calls from friends and fans on the matter. The enquiries were so much
that it ran down my battery and I couldn't handle it.
Even till now the calls
have not stopped. There is no truth in the rumour. Yes it is true that I
performed at a private function in Ibadan with my band while Gbenga Adeyinka
was the compere of the occasion. I am at loss why someone would concoct
falsehood to rubbish my good reputation.” Meanwhile, fans of the talented
artiste now have something to cheer with as the yuletide season beckons. After
what seems like an endless wait, the sensational artiste is out with a new
album entitled Sugar. On some of the highlights of the album, Ayuba
disclosed, “This is complete, sugar is different from my previous works. It is
a chart buster with special tracks for my mother, Late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister,
Bola Tinubu, importance of marriage and his own side in the history of Fuji
music.”
