Ibinabo Fibersima Sworn in As AGN President

Veteran actress, Racheal Oniga made history last Friday when she declared Ibinabo
Fiberisima as the newly elected President of the Actors Guild of
Nigeria (AGN), against all odds. The declaration came a day after the
election of the previous day that took place in 22 state chapters. Ibinabo
pulled the highest number of votes as she won the election coasting to
victory with 97 votes against Emeka Rollas’ 86 votes while Steve
Eboh had a disappointing 5 votes.
Though Oniga was not the Chairman of the
electoral committee, she’s the secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s
Electoral Committee (AGNEC) had no other option than to
announce the results after they had been sent in and compiled
before members of AGNEC and the Vice Chairman of the Board. She was
sworn-in with other members of the elected National Executives on saturday in
an impressive ceremony
