OPEN HEAVENS: NEW LIFE IN JESUS | WEDNESDAY, 22ND JANUARY, 2014
Wednesday, January 22, 2014Omoba
MEMORISE
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
READ: Galatians 2:20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live;
yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
MESSAGE
No doubt, there are lot of things that Apostle Paul
wrote which are hard to fathom. How can somebody be crucified and yet be alive?
A crucified fellow is bound to die; but in Galatians 2:20, Paul says...

OPEN HEAVENS: A LESSON FROM GOLIATH | TUESDAY, 21ST JANUARY, 2014
Tuesday, January 21, 2014Omoba
MEMORISE
Yet a little sleep, a
little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty
come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. Proverbs 6:10-11
READ 1 Samuel 17:41-43
41 And the Philistine
came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before
him. 42 And when the
Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a
youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. 43 And the Philistine
said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the
Philistine cursed David by his gods.
MESSAGE
At the first sight of
David, Goliath despised him. He was amazed that the children of Israel could
find no man to fight him but a young boy. As if that was not enough, Goliath
did not see any conventional weapon of war on David. So he asked, “Am I a dog?”
The first lesson we have to learn from this story as Christians is that we must
never underestimate our enemies. A small snake can be full of potent poison. In
Joshua 7:2-6, the Bible tells us that after the fall of Jericho, Joshua
relaxed, thinking that since they were victorious over Jericho, a small town
like Ai would pose no problems.
