Now three months
since the passing of Amy Winehouse, the cause of the singer’s death has
remained the centre of much controversy, with many citing the singer’s drug
addiction as the only possible explanation for her untimely demise.
According to
coroner Suzanne Greenway:
Ms. Winehouse had
consumed sufficient alcohol at 416mg per decilitre [of blood] and the
unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and
unexpected death. More than five
times the legal drink-drive limit. More interestingly, no traces of illegal
drugs were found in the ‘Back To Black‘ belter’s body and her organs were
reportedly in healthy condition but it was the dangerously high levels of
alcohol in her system that stopped her breathing which then put her in a coma.
She was 27 years
old.
